 SCHOOL POLICIES & RESOURCES

 ATTENDANCE

Attendance: For every 3 absences your final course grade will be lowered by 1 (such as.. a 'B' becomes a 'C'). Each late arrival, will cost you a -1/3 adjustment (such as.. a 'B' becomes a 'B-'). Excused absences include illness, family issues that are beyond your control, natural disasters and alien invasions.
  • When I have to wait for students to arrive before starting my lectures the students who arrived on-time are also waiting. You are being disrespectful to them when you come late.
  • If you are not present for lectures and team sessions, I and your team have to spend time catching you up. That is also disrespectful to your fellow students because it cuts into their time.
  • If you post or turn in your assignments late, your team or I may not be able to provide feedback to you in a timely manner.
  • If you think you will want a reference from me, or any teacher, employer, alumni or fellow student, you will want to be punctual. Generally people will give honest references because their own reputation is at stake. And, you don't want to be referred to as the person who is often late or missing.

 GRADING CRITERIA

You will be graded at 2 intervals, mid-term and final. The midterm is a progress assessment. The final grade is the only one that goes on your transcripts.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES:
  • You will be expected to have the listed deliverables completed at the beginning of class on all of the due dates that are posted on the calendar.
  • Each deliverable not turned in will result in the lowering of your final grade by 1 (such as.. a B becomes a C).
  • Late submission will result in a 1/3 grade lowering (such as.. a B becomes a B-).
  • Failure to finish the project will result in an F for the entire class. That grade can be changed once the project is completed.
QUALITY:
  • of project presentations and class review participation.
  • of project execution relative to project objectives as outlined in the course deliverables.
PROFESSIONALISM:
  • Pushing your work.
  • Taking responsibility for your work.
  • Commitment to and patience in communication with other students and me.
  • Giving and Taking Critique.
  • Being respectful.Â
